Now get started on your artist blog

Ok, so we established that if you want to sell more art online, you need a good blog. So how do you get started?

There are two favourite ways of testing the water blogging, without having to buy a domain name or get hosting. These are Blogger and WordPress. Both are very easy to use and you can start posting your artwork immediately.

Here’s a couple of ideas to get you going as well:

1. Write a good quality ‘about me’ page. Give the readers a real insight into who you are as an artist. Add interesting stories if you have them.

2. Add a brief description to each picture that you put on. Why did you create it?

I look forward to you sending me a link to your site in the comments below.

  1. Hi,

Having a blog that works demands posting on a regular basis.
    And posting what ?
Quality content. Quality content is what will keep readers coming back.
With only about 5 months my blog already has a pagerank of 3. I guess it’s mostly because I write articles about subjects/themes that are not as writen about as others and so it’s more easily found on searches.
Also submiting to the main blog directories is important (skipp the link farms).
Of course that it goes without saying that DMOZ is the directory that you want to submit your site/blog.

    Best regards,

    José
